The Township of Mount Olive was selected by the New Jersey Department of Transportation to receive Local Technical Assistance to create a Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan which, when implemented, will benefit and increase various forms of non-vehicular travel in the Township. The Project Team, comprised of NJDOT, the Township of Mount Olive, and NV5, has reviewed Mount Olive’s current vast trail network to understand the extent to which connections are needed. The Project Team and Steering Committee have performed public outreach to build a vision of trail linkages between major destinations and plan for future pathway opportunities with an emphasis on connecting existing trails that are widely used for bicycling and walking.
A public outreach session is scheduled to share the results in conjunction with the Mount Olive Recreation Cabin Fever Reliever event. It will be held on Saturday, February 10 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Mount Olive Senior Center. Please come by and learn more about the project and provide your input.
